basketball Benedetto 20160212 120Basketball season winded down for the Lansing JV team in their final game against Whitney Point on February 9th.   Coming into this final game, both teams stood at 14-2 and Lansing won both regular season battles but given the IAC by-laws a play-in was required to go to championship.  The Bobcats lost in overtime putting an end to the JV season.  During this game Joe Miller-LaBar topped the points with 25 with additional points by Luke Winslow and Matt Rebera with 10 and 8 respectively.

For the Varsity team, they are hosting sectional play with Elmira Notre-Dame on Tuesday, February 16th.  With a record of 10-9 for the Lansing Bobcats and 9-10 for the END Crusaders, this will be an exciting game.  They last faced off on February 5th at home which was also Senior Night for Tyler Ayers, Zach Detrick, Nate Fleishman, Justin Larkin, Josh Miller-LaBar and Chris Robinson.  While the Bobcats lost 45-50 against END, Zack Walker topped the points at 18 and had 10 rebounds.  Additional points were Josh Miller-LaBar with 11, and more by Detrick, Eastman, Zuidema, and Robinson.  "Hard work pays off" was advice given by Fleishman, while Ayers reminded "Patience is the key to victory".    This advice will be key for the players when they face off with END again next week.
